Trip Overview

Located towards the west of Annapurna and south of Ganesh Himal, Putha Hiunchuli also called the Dhaulagiri VII is one of the attractive and beautiful 7000 m peaks in the Dhaulagiri range. The first ascent to this stunning peak was made in 1954 by J.O.M. Roberts and Ang Nyima Sherpa via the Northeast route.

Putha Hiunchuli situated in the isolated region of Dolpo marks the end of the Dhaulagiri chain towards the west. The route passes through the lesser-known areas with scarce population and more wilderness. Along the trek, you will see an amazing diversity of landscapes, ecosystems as well as lifestyles. Rural and remote but worth giving a try to experience the beauty, the tranquility, and peacefulness in the lap of nature. And as a bonus, Putha Hiunchuli is an absolutely perfect choice for skiers too. So, if you are a ski lover, Putha Hiunchuli is a must-go destination for you!!

Putha Hiunchuli poses some significant level of challenge to the climbers but is not categorized as a difficult peak probably because the slopes rise relatively lesser than 35 degrees in the whole climb. Hence, it is an absolutely perfect choice for those willing to head for higher 7000ers as well as 8000ers. This expedition is an ideal preparation and a perfect step into the high altitude mountaineering. Our highly experienced and professional Sherpas will facilitate you in all aspects during the expedition.

We will set up three higher camps above the Base Camp before we go for the summit push. Base camp will be set up at 4900 m while Camp I will be established at 5500m followed by Camp II at 6150 m and Camp 3 at 6350 m above the glacier. All camps will be properly established by our experienced and professional Sherpas while you will be served high-quality food prepared freshly by our High Camp cooks. We do not cut any corners in our service, so be prepared for a first-class expedition journey to Putha Hiunchuli, the Dhaulagiri VII.

Trip Notes

Please do remember these things.

Climbers are advised to prepare and train their bodies and mind in a perfect way to adapt to the remoteness, high altitude, and distance from the families. It is also advised to carry lesser amounts of valuable belongings. Also, pack in some cotton clothes for your stay in Kathmandu while some warm ones for the Himalayas. Always keep a copy of your passport and photos with you.

Trekking and mountain climbing in the Mountain Region are highly dependent on weather conditions. We try to schedule our trips at the most favorable time but in case of extreme scenarios, domestic flights to Nepalgunj and Juphal may be delayed or canceled. In cases as such, we would like to notify you that except for the total number of days in the itinerary section, expenses of other extra days shall be borne by the client himself/herself. However, EEN will make necessary arrangements for the accommodation of porters and guides. If you wish to make alternative arrangements such as a helicopter flight to avoid flight delays, we can arrange it at a nominal extra charge.

Also, EEN shall not be liable for any compensation for losses due to missed International Flights but we will surely help to make necessary arrangements to minimize your loss. To avoid missing flights, we suggest keeping some flexible time frames before trip departure and after trip departure.

Also be notified that as we will be traveling in remote areas with extreme climatic conditions and geography where trails can be distorted at times, we might need to adjust our itineraries as required.  But we assure you that the quality of service shall not be compromised at any cost.

Thank you for joining us on our Expedition!!
